According to a detailed report by the American news outlet Axios, the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates have urged former U.S. President Donald Trump, during his recent visit to the region, to refrain from taking any military action against Iran. These Gulf leaders stressed that a military escalation could have dangerous consequences for the region and emphasized the importance of continuing diplomatic efforts to resolve Iran’s nuclear issue.
As reported by Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, the leaders advocated for renewed negotiations and a peaceful resolution through a new nuclear deal with Iran. Sources revealed that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed all expressed their clear support for a diplomatic solution and voiced concern about the risks of conflict.
Axios also reported that Trump, in a recent phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, warned against launching an attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities. He stated that he believes the Iranian nuclear crisis can be resolved through a strong agreement, possibly within the next two weeks.
Furthermore, the report highlighted that Saudi and Emirati officials are now less concerned about Iran’s regional activities compared to the situation in 2015 under President Obama. Their current priorities lie in maintaining regional stability and focusing on economic growth and development
