Emirates has become the world’s first airline to receive official Autism Certification. This milestone comes after a year of collaboration with the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES), highlighting Emirates’ commitment to creating accessible and inclusive travel experiences for all.
Over 30,000 cabin crew and ground staff have been trained to better understand and support the needs of autistic passengers, ensuring a calm and welcoming environment throughout their journey.
As part of its ongoing efforts, Emirates has expanded its “Autism Travel Program” to 17 cities worldwide, including Dubai, Barcelona, Paris, Montreal, and Toronto. This initiative allows families to familiarize themselves with airport procedures such as check-in, immigration, and boarding in advance, helping to reduce travel anxiety for autistic children.
