Aster Clinics’ Therapy Group, in collaboration with DYU Healthcare Institute, has opened the first specialized and integrated Child Growth and Development Center at the Aster Jubilee Medical Complex located in the Bur Dubai neighborhood.
This center, with a multidisciplinary approach and early intervention, offers assessment, diagnosis, and treatment services for children aged 0 to 16 with disorders such as autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and developmental challenges.
The Aster DYU Child Growth and Development Center, working with a specialized team of pediatricians, psychologists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists, designs comprehensive, individualized treatment plans for each child. The center’s specialized services include speech and language testing, sensory integration assessments, IQ testing, and evaluation of special educational needs.
According to official UAE statistics, about 16% of newborns are born with low birth weight, increasing the risk of developmental disorders. The prevalence of autism in the UAE is reported at 0.68% (equivalent to one child in every 146 births), and ADHD ranges between 5.1% and 8.8%. These figures highlight the importance of specialized centers with a multidisciplinary approach and early intervention.
The Aster DYU Center operates daily from 9 AM to 7 PM.
It is expected to conduct more than 20,000 therapy sessions annually. The center’s regular service capacity is planned for 350 children, with initial assessments for an additional 500 children.
Officials at the center have announced plans to open 10 new branches in the next two years across Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and other Emirates. There is also ongoing planning to launch mobile units to collaborate with kindergartens and elementary schools to provide on-site therapy services.
By offering integrated and specialized services, the Aster DYU Child Growth and Development Center plays a vital role in improving children’s healthcare infrastructure in the United Arab Emirates.
It has the potential to transform the lives of hundreds of children and their families.
