Sharjah Police has introduced a new smart device called “Rased” to detect traffic violations and enhance road safety.
Developed by the Sharjah Police Traffic Innovation Lab, the Rased device uses advanced cameras to identify serious violations such as illegal lane changes and failure to stay within driving lanes. Once detected, it automatically issues fines to the offenders in real time.
The system continuously monitors driver behavior and sends violation data directly to the authorities and the driver involved.
According to Sharjah Police, this technology helps improve traffic flow, especially during peak hours, while promoting safer and more disciplined driving. The focus, they emphasize, is on safety rather than punishment.
In the first half of 2025, road accident fatalities in Sharjah dropped by 35%, reflecting the success of the police’s ongoing safety initiatives.
