Dr. Maryam Matar, a leading geneticist and founder of the UAE Genetic Diseases Association, revealed that through advanced technology and regenerative medicine, she has reduced her body’s biological age to 28 and the biological age of vital organs such as her heart and liver to just 16.
Speaking at the 6th Women in Technology Conference in Dubai, Dr. Matar explained that women have a genetic advantage due to possessing two X chromosomes, which makes them 99.9% better at analysis and prediction compared to men. She jokingly advised men to give flowers to their mothers, “because that’s where your smart genes come from.”
Dr. Matar shared how an experience in Japan in 2011 transformed her career path. Inspired by an energetic 85-year-old professor, she pursued regenerative medicine, a field that uses technology to measure and restore the biological age of cells.
She highlighted that 27% of biotechnology company breakthroughs between 2000 and 2010 were achieved by women and predicted that girls born in 2021 could live healthy lives up to the age of 97 if they take proper care of themselves.
According to her, the hormone estrogen and late motherhood — such as giving birth at 42 — can contribute to longevity, especially with modern technologies that ensure fetal health.
Dr. Matar also warned against misinformation about health on social media, emphasizing that in the UAE, providing health services without a license is strictly prohibited and carefully monitored.
