Abu Dhabi is set to welcome the first-ever Disney theme park designed with a distinctly Emirati touch — where the magic of Disney meets the soul of the UAE.
In a recent interview, the CEO of Miral said: “This destination will be Emirati in style but purely Disney in experience. We want visitors to feel the culture of the UAE while enjoying the magic of Disney.”
The ambitious project, officially approved in April, is currently in its design phase, with regular workshops taking place between Disney’s development team and Miral.
This marks Disney’s first new park in 16 years and its seventh theme park worldwide, solidifying Yas Island’s status as a growing global family entertainment hub.
The Most Accessible Disney Park in the World?
Strategically located between Asia, Europe, and Africa, the new Disney park in Abu Dhabi is expected to become one of the most easily accessible Disney destinations in the world — with over 500 million people living within a 4 to 5-hour flight radius.
It is also less than 30 minutes from Dubai and just minutes away from Abu Dhabi’s major airports, making it an attractive destination for both local residents and international tourists.
“This is a major shift for regional tourism,” the CEO added. “We are bridging a massive geographic gap between the Far East and Europe.”
