According to Law No. 5 of 2025, new regulations will govern medical examinations related to residency visas, work permits, and driving licenses in the Emirate of Dubai. These measures aim to raise public health standards and streamline medical procedures for residents and visitors.
All applicants seeking to obtain or renew residency visas or work permits are now required to undergo a comprehensive “Medical Fitness” test at DHA-approved centers. This screening includes testing for communicable diseases such as HIV and tuberculosis.
Applicants for a driver’s license must also pass a specialized medical examination to confirm their physical fitness for safe driving.
The law further outlines preventive measures, emergency health response protocols, and the responsibilities of both public and private healthcare providers, creating a unified framework for managing public health challenges.
These updates reflect Dubai’s commitment to safeguarding community health and aligning with global best practices in public health management.
