At the Dubai Coffee Championships, held from February 10 to 12, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, an exciting round of the UAE National Roasting and Barista Championships took place. Iranian participants made a remarkable impact in these competitions:
Raha Shahsavar from Crack Coffee Roastery claimed first place in the roasting competition, bringing pride to Iran.
Hootan Salemi from The QC secured third place in the barista competition.
Additionally, Oldie Nugroho from The Espresso Lab stunned everyone by winning first place in the barista category, while Lablebel Bajarayas from Heirloom and Hootan Salemi from The QC took second and third places, respectively.
In the roasting category, following Raha Shahsavar, the teams Ajiod & Patori from Brewing Gadgets secured second place, and Fritz Lupian Lavore from Emirati Coffee Co took third.
This event, held alongside the Dubai World Coffee Exhibition, attracted coffee enthusiasts and professionals, highlighting the industry’s remarkable growth in the region, particularly in the UAE. The presence and success of Iranian competitors demonstrate that Iranian coffee specialists, with their talent and dedication, can shine on the international stage.
