Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, widely known as the “Mother of the Nation,” has donated AED 172 million (USD 46.8 million) to the newly launched “Waqf Al Hayat” (With You for Life) campaign, aimed at supporting patients suffering from chronic diseases.
The initiative, launched last week by the Abu Dhabi Authority of Waqf, had already raised AED 115 million from 33,000 donors during its first week. With this generous contribution, the campaign’s total has now reached AED 287 million.
Sheikha Fatima’s Message:
In a statement, Sheikha Fatima said, *“The Waqf Al Hayat campaign is an exceptional initiative rooted in the values of giving and generosity instilled in us by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. It reflects the UAE’s unique approach to sustainable charity by focusing on human development and delivering essential services to the most vulnerable members of society.”*
Campaign Goals:
As part of the UAE’s “Year of Community,” the campaign seeks to create a AED 1 billion endowment to cover the treatment costs of underprivileged patients and support research and development of new medications.
