Olive coffee, the UAE’s newest and most talked-about drink, has quickly caught the attention of coffee enthusiasts and health-conscious consumers alike. This unique coffee, made from olives, is available in flavors such as hazelnut, frankincense, and kark (creamy milk froth), offering a completely different experience from traditional coffee.
The idea for this product originated from the personal experience of Huda Abdelaziz and Nadia Al Mansouri, a mother-daughter entrepreneurial duo from the UAE. Huda says:
“My mother never drank coffee because it caused palpitations and fatigue. But when she tried olive coffee, she realized none of those symptoms occurred. That was when we decided to bring this coffee to the UAE.”
Behind this idea is Dr. Waleed Al Azraq, CEO of the Turkish–Yemeni company First Pasha Coffee, which holds the patent for this product. He explains:
“We believe that Arab heritage is full of valuable ingredients that can be revived with modern science. The olive — a tree mentioned in the Quran as a symbol of blessing — is a rich source of antioxidants. Combining it with coffee creates a product that is both culturally significant and beneficial for health.”
Olive coffee was first introduced with four Turkish coffee flavors and is now available in eight diverse flavors in the UAE market. The brand, History Coffee, also maintains an active presence at major events, such as the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition.
