The Skyblaze Fountain Show at Atlantis The Royal in Dubai is being unveiled with a brand-new composition by Hans Zimmer, the Academy Award–winning composer. This 4.5-minute spectacle, blending water, fire, and light, comes to life with the piece Diamond in the Desert—Zimmer’s first-ever score created for a travel destination, inspired by the city of Dubai.
Zimmer, known for his iconic work on The Lion King, Gladiator, and Dune, explains:
“The ambition and cultural fusion of Dubai inspired me to compose this music.”
Starting September 12, the show will run nightly from 7 PM to midnight, every 30 minutes. Skyblaze is one of the most unique fountain shows in the world, featuring over 1,400 colored lights along with fire and water effects, creating a new experience every time. Guests can enjoy the show from several of the hotel’s restaurants, including Heston Blumenthal and Ariana Persian.
The project is the result of three years of Zimmer’s creative work, with Dubai chosen as the canvas for his art. Aayed Al Busaidi from Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism noted: “This music reflects Zimmer’s inspiration from Dubai’s vibrant neighborhoods and iconic landmarks.”
