In the latest global safety index report for the first half of 2025 by the data platform Numbeo, the United Arab Emirates has ranked as the safest country in the world, earning a score of 85.2.
Following the UAE, the countries of Andorra, Qatar, Taiwan, and Macau (China) secured the second to fifth positions respectively. Interestingly, in the March 2025 report, the UAE held second place, while Andorra was ranked first at that time.
In this latest report, Andorra comes in second with a score of 84.8, followed by Qatar with 84.6. Taiwan and Macau round out the top five.
The UAE was also recognized last year for having one of the highest standards of living in the Middle East and Africa. Furthermore, Abu Dhabi and Dubai ranked first and second respectively in the list of the world’s most livable cities. In terms of safety, Abu Dhabi holds the top global rank with a score of 88.2, while Dubai is ranked fifth worldwide.
