The United Arab Emirates has announced the introduction of a renewable one-year humanitarian residency, issued under the decision of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP).
This residency is designed for nationals from countries affected by wars, natural disasters, or unrest, allowing them to live in the UAE without the need for a guarantor or host. Renewal or cancellation of the permit will be subject to ICP reviews, and the residency will be automatically void if the holder leaves the country.
Holders of this residency may also bring their families or dependents under their sponsorship. The ICP has the authority to exempt certain financial requirements or kinship conditions within the framework of existing regulations.
The initiative aims to provide a safe haven for individuals in need of humanitarian protection, while enabling them to live and work in the UAE in line with national laws.
