To improve students’ health and ensure better nutrition, the UAE Ministry of Education has prohibited the sale of certain unhealthy food items in school cafeterias nationwide. This measure aligns with global health standards and aims to reduce high-fat, high-sugar intake and prevent allergic reactions.
The banned items include:
Hot dogs and processed meats
Instant noodles
Chocolate bars
Chocolate spreads and breakfast cream chocolate
Sweets, candies, and jelly
Peanut-containing products
Potato and corn chips
Carbonated drinks, energy drinks, industrial juices, flavored water, iced tea, slushies, and Eskimo-style drinks
Cream cakes and donuts
