Saudi Arabia is moving forward with an ambitious project known as the Rise Tower, a planned skyscraper that could reach an unprecedented height of 2,000 meters (2 kilometers), making it the tallest structure in the world.
The project is expected to surpass both Dubai’s Burj Khalifa (828 meters) and the long-delayed Jeddah Tower. According to international reports, the Public Investment Fund (PIF) will finance the development, with an estimated budget of $5 billion. The tender process is expected to begin in 2025.
Designed by Foster + Partners, the Rise Tower will be part of a larger urban development known as the North Pole District, envisioned to include residential, commercial, and leisure spaces as well as advanced infrastructure.
If realized, the Rise Tower would not only redefine Riyadh’s skyline but also serve as a powerful symbol of Saudi Arabia’s architectural and economic ambition, aligned with the country’s Vision 2030 strategy.
