The UAE Ministry of Education has announced that all public schools will now be required to dedicate a specific time each day for students to perform the Dhuhr (noon) prayer in congregation.
In a statement shared on X, the ministry described schools as “houses of values, just as they are houses of knowledge,” emphasizing that religious education is an integral part of students’ development.
A video accompanying the announcement showed students calling the Adhan, preparing prayer spaces, and performing the Dhuhr prayer together. The footage also highlighted students’ enthusiasm and positive response to the initiative.
This move is part of the UAE’s broader cultural and educational policies aimed at strengthening Islamic identity and fostering spiritual values in the educational environment.
