The members of Iran’s national football team, who were scheduled to depart for the four-nation Al Ain tournament at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, were delayed due to visa issues and had to remain at the Olympic Hotel for several hours.
As a result, the coaching staff held an additional training session yesterday evening for the players.
Following the necessary follow-ups, the team’s visas were finally issued, and the squad departed Tehran at 11:00 p.m., arriving in the UAE around 2:00 a.m. local time.
This change in travel plans disrupted the coaching staff’s schedule, as the players reached Al Ain fatigued from the delay. Meanwhile, the national teams of Cape Verde and Egypt had already arrived in the UAE, which added to the Iranian staff’s dissatisfaction.
Amir Ghalenoei’s men will face Cape Verde on Thursday in their opening match of the four-nation tournament in Al Ain.
