The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority has launched a new initiative called “Harakat Sikka”, offering a free animation training program for UAE citizens and residents. The course will be conducted in Arabic and English and is open to anyone over 18, with no prior experience required.

Dates: August 18 to September 26, 2025
Instructor: Boubaker Boukhari – Director and Artist
This program is designed for aspiring creatives, including students, artists, filmmakers, designers, and writers. The aim is to develop participants’ skills in visual storytelling and stop-motion animation through hands-on learning.
The course includes:
Concept development and storyboarding
Character design and visual arts
Filming, editing, and sound recording
Distribution strategies and practical workshops
At the end of the program, participants will produce their own original short films, which will be screened at the Sikka Art and Design Festival.
