Flydubai airline has resumed its flights to Syria after a 12-year hiatus. The inaugural flight, number FZ 115, landed at Damascus International Airport on June 1st and was accompanied by a traditional welcoming ceremony.
This flight marks the beginning of Flydubai’s daily services to Damascus and represents an important step in restoring air connectivity between the UAE and Syria.
At the welcoming ceremony for this flight, Hassan Ahmed Al Shehi, the UAE Ambassador to Syria, Abdul Bari Al Saj, Deputy Head of the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority, and Amjad Nakhal, Director of the Authority, were present.

Hassan Ahmed Al Shehi, the UAE Ambassador in Damascus, expressed his happiness over the resumption of Flydubai flights, viewing it as a sign of the close and brotherly relations between the UAE and Syria.
He emphasized that this move will strengthen regional and international air connectivity, develop economic relations, and enhance the ties between the peoples of the two countries.
He also highlighted that this step paves the way for the full return of UAE airlines to Syria and will provide high-quality services to the Syrian people to meet their travel needs.
