The United Arab Emirates has expanded its Golden Visa program to include special consular services for holders of the long-term residency visa while abroad. Previously available only to Emirati citizens, these services are now accessible to all Golden Visa holders.
According to the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, holders of the 10-year Golden Visa will receive essential support during emergencies overseas. This includes access to a dedicated hotline for immediate assistance.
The initiative was officially unveiled at GITEX Global in Dubai and marks a major step toward enhancing safety and well-being for Golden Visa residents. In cases of lost or damaged passports abroad, visa holders will be able to obtain a temporary travel document to return to the UAE. They will also be included in emergency evacuation and crisis management programs, with coordination services for repatriation and funeral arrangements available if needed.
To qualify for the Golden Visa, investors must hold at least AED 2 million in UAE property or bank deposits. Skilled professionals earning a minimum monthly salary of AED 30,000 are also eligible. Exceptional talents — including celebrities, sports figures, and business leaders — may apply without the investment requirement, provided they can present strong supporting documentation.
Application fees range between AED 5,000 and AED 9,000, covering medical tests, Emirates ID, and residency processing. Required documents include a valid passport, attested educational certificates, and, in some cases, a no-objection certificate from the employer.
This new update makes the Golden Visa program even more attractive, reinforcing the UAE’s reputation as a safe and desirable destination for living and investment.
