His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence of the UAE, met with over 200 artists with disabilities in a special event held at Al Mamzar Park, Dubai, to mark the UAE Flag Day. The event was part of the “7 by 7” initiative, which aims to promote a culture of skill-based volunteering.
More than 400 professional volunteers joined the artists to create artworks inspired by the UAE’s cultural identity and heritage. The highlight of the event was a collaborative painting of the UAE flag on the outer wall of the Al Mamzar Park Theatre — a powerful symbol of national unity and belonging.
The event was attended by several distinguished officials, including Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development, and Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, was also present and emphasized the vital role of art as a universal language of expression and inclusion.
Sheikh Hamdan expressed his pride in the creative energy of people with disabilities, noting that the event reflects the spirit of unity, belonging, and human values within Emirati society. He added that the “7 by 7” initiative embodies the vision of the UAE’s leadership to strengthen volunteerism and community participation, reaffirming Dubai’s commitment to supporting initiatives that foster social cohesion and inclusion.
