Safeer Mall, a well-known shopping center in Sharjah, officially closed its doors two months ago after nearly two decades of serving residents and visitors. Located on Al Khan Road, the mall had three commercial floors and two parking levels. It originally started in 2005 as a discount market and gradually expanded into a full-fledged shopping mall.
The closure was confirmed by a call center operator from Al Safeer Group. The iconic blue signage has been removed from the building’s exterior. While some shopkeepers have reported continuing operations, the mall’s management has yet to release an official statement.
For many long-time residents, the closure of Safeer Mall marks more than the end of a shopping destination—it’s the farewell to a place filled with family memories and everyday experiences.
Afsha Noori, a Dubai resident and long-time customer, shared:
“During my early years of motherhood, Safeer Mall felt like our second home. We used to buy everything from groceries to kitchenware there. I’ll definitely miss those times.”
Wreisha Shahrokh, an 18-year-old Pakistani living in the UAE, also expressed her sadness:
“My father always bought my school uniforms from Safeer Mall. Hearing about its closure is really upsetting.”
Today, Safeer Mall stands not just as a closed shopping center but as a geographical and emotional landmark in the memories of Sharjah’s community and visitors across the UAE.
