The 4th edition of the Dubai World Congress and Challenge for Self-Driving Transport will kick off on Wednesday, September 23, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The two-day event is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, under the theme “Redefining Transportation… The Path to Autonomy.”
The congress will bring together over 3,000 participants, including industry leaders, government officials, and researchers. More than 80 speakers will deliver talks across 45 workshops and seminars, while an exhibition featuring 50 leading companies will showcase cutting-edge innovations in autonomous vehicles, artificial intelligence, and smart infrastructure. Key participants include Baidu, Apollo, Uber, and Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA).
The Dubai World Challenge for Self-Driving Transport, themed around developing an “Autonomous Transport Zone,” has witnessed a 170% increase in participation this year. Five finalist teams from China, Germany, Switzerland, France, the UAE, Austria, and Singapore will compete to design an integrated urban transport zone, with winners announced on the opening day.
Distinguished speakers include Saeed Al Tayer, CEO of DEWA, and Sol Rashidi, the world’s first Chief AI Officer. The event positions Dubai as a living testbed for autonomous transport, supporting its strategic objectives of cost reduction, enhanced safety, and improved traffic flow.
By attracting leading global companies and universities, the congress provides a vital platform for knowledge exchange and technological showcase. It also marks a significant step toward Dubai’s vision of making 25% of all city trips autonomous 2032.
