His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, on Wednesday extended his warmest greetings to the millions of people celebrating the Chinese New Year.
“I would like to extend my warmest greetings to all those celebrating the Chinese New Year in the UAE and around the world,” he said on social media platform X. May the New Year bring you and your loved ones peace, prosperity and happiness,”
Diplomatic relations between the UAE and China were established in 1984. There are currently some 6,591 Chinese brands registered in the UAE, with more than 327 trade agencies operating in the country.
The UAE is home to a large Chinese population, most of whom work in the construction sector. The UAE is also China’s second-largest trading partner in the Gulf and the largest buyer of Chinese products.
To mark the Year of the Snake, Umm Al-Emirati Park is hosting the exhibition “Together in the Light: 40 Years of China-UAE Friendship” in collaboration with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China and the Chinese Language Institute until February 1.
The China Pavilion in Global Village will feature a series of cultural performances and authentic food experiences, along with a fireworks display.
Hundreds of millions of people across Asia celebrated Chinese New Year with their families on Wednesday, bidding farewell to the Year of the Dragon.
