According to the latest report from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the United Arab Emirates has provided more aid to the people of Gaza than any other country in the world. Since its founding in 1971 through mid-2024, the UAE’s total foreign aid has reached AED 360 billion (approximately USD 98 billion), securing its position as one of the world’s leading humanitarian donors.
In line with its long-standing policy of generosity, the UAE launched Operation Gallant Knight 3 in November 2023 to support the Palestinian people. Under this operation and the “Birds of Goodness” initiative, more than 3,750 tons of food and relief supplies have been delivered to Gaza via land, sea, and air routes.
A United Nations report published in July 2025 confirmed that 44% of all international aid sent to Gaza since the October 7, 2023 conflict has come from the UAE, making it the largest governmental contributor to humanitarian efforts in the region.
In addition to regular ground convoys through the Rafah border crossing, the UAE has sent six cargo ships carrying 55,000 tons of aid and operated over 500 humanitarian and military relief flights. The country has also established two field hospitals, a floating hospital off the coast of Al-Arish, six desalination plants producing two million gallons of clean water daily, and 21 mobile bakeries to help feed displaced families.
According to the Abu Dhabi Office of International Affairs, the UAE’s total aid to Palestine from November 2023 to the end of July 2025 has exceeded USD 1.2 billion. With over five decades of experience in global relief work, the UAE is positioning itself as a central player in the future reconstruction of Gaza.
