The UAE government has announced the official working hours for public sector employees and federal entities during the holy month of Ramadan.
From Monday to Thursday, working hours will be from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM, while on Fridays, employees will work from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) stated that exceptions will be made for certain jobs requiring different working hours. Additionally, flexible working arrangements will be allowed for ministries and federal government employees, provided that daily working hours are maintained.
Furthermore, remote work on Fridays will be permitted for up to 70% of employees in a federal entity, according to approved guidelines.
Meanwhile, the International Astronomy Center (IAC) in the UAE has indicated that Saturday, March 1, is likely to mark the beginning of Ramadan. The final decision will be made after official moon sighting committees convene on February 28 (29th of Sha’ban).
