The United Arab Emirates has taken a significant step in space exploration. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, announced the signing of an agreement that brings the UAE closer to sending the first Arab astronaut into lunar orbit.
In a post on the social media platform “X” (formerly Twitter), he revealed his participation in the signing ceremony of this cooperation agreement with Thales Alenia Space, describing it as a milestone in the UAE’s space program.
According to the agreement, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) will lead the UAE’s participation in this ambitious project. Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that this initiative marks the beginning of a new era in human space exploration and highlighted the UAE’s pivotal role in this journey.
He also expressed his pride in collaborating with the United States, Japan, Canada, and the European Union to push the boundaries of knowledge and space exploration. The agreement was signed in a ceremony attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai and Vice President of the UAE, and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE.
