Emirates Airline has announced a large-scale recruitment drive for pilots, coinciding with the official opening of its state-of-the-art flight training center in Dubai. The airline is actively hiring for three key programs: Direct Entry Captains, Accelerated Command, and First Officers without type rating.
The $135 million training facility, covering over 63,000 square feet, has been designed to support the strategic growth of Emirates’ fleet, including the upcoming Airbus A350 and Boeing 777X aircraft. It is positioned as a critical component in maintaining the airline’s reputation as the world’s largest and most profitable international carrier, operating the biggest fleets of A380s and Boeing 777s.
The new center houses six full-flight simulators, two of which are already operational for A350 training, while four more— including Boeing 777X simulators— will be installed in the coming years. These simulators are integrated with Emirates’ internally developed Pilot Support Station (PSS), an industry-first innovation that allows pilots to configure their cockpit and prepare flight plans in a fully immersive environment before entering the simulator.
Once fully operational, the center will increase Emirates’ pilot training capacity by 54%, delivering 130,000 training hours annually across 17 simulators, with the ability to train up to 1,000 pilots per year.
