According to the head of the Rose Museum, the kingdom successfully secured global recognition for the rose under its own name. Meanwhile, Turkey is pursuing the registration of the rose’s extract under the name “Isparta” with the European Union.
Iran, historically known as the birthplace of the Damask rose, has been left out of the registration process. Experts emphasize that this rose is one of the most valuable species in the Middle East, with cultural and historical roots stretching from Iran to the Ottoman Empire and the Levant.
