His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the UAE, arrived in Muscat leading a high-level delegation and was welcomed by Sheikh Sayyid Dhi Yazan bin Haitham Al Said, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth of Oman. The visit is in response to an official invitation from Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, and within the first hours of the Crown Prince’s arrival, he was taken directly to Al Alam Palace to deliver a written message from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to the Sultan of Oman.
The Emirati delegation includes Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs
Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, and a number of senior officials; a presence that reflects the range of topics discussed, from the digital economy and tourism to free zones and cultural cooperation.
The two sides are scheduled to meet today and tomorrow to discuss strategies to strengthen joint investment, especially in logistics and renewable energy projects, convergence in the field of artificial intelligence and the green economy, and the development of tourism exchanges between the coasts of Oman and Dubai. According to a previous statement from the Dubai Media Office, Sheikh Hamdan will also discuss the facilitation of customs procedures and maritime transport via the Jebel Ali and Duqm ports, an issue that is considered key to connecting regional supply chains from the perspective of the two countries.
